We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Website Developer with expertise in Drupal and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our federal clients websites using Drupal as the content management system (CMS) and hosting them on the Amazon Cloud platform. Your innovative approach and technical proficiency will contribute to the enhancement of the online presence of our client, enabling effective communication of environmental initiatives and information to a global audience.Website Development:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and design preferences.
  • Design, develop, and implement visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive EPA websites using Drupal as the primary CMS.
  • Customize and configure Drupal modules, themes, and templates to align with the EPA's branding and functionality needs.
  • Implement best practices in web development, ensuring optimal performance, security, and SEO compliance.
AWS Cloud Hosting:
  • Set up, configure, and manage hosting environments for EPA websites on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Utilize AWS services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, and Amazon CloudFront to ensure reliable and scalable website hosting.
  • Implement and monitor security measures, backups, and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard website data and functionality.
Content Management:
  • Collaborate with content creators, editors, and administrators to ensure seamless content publishing and management within the Drupal CMS.
  • Train and provide support to content contributors on using the CMS effectively.
Performance Optimization:
  • Monitor website performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to ensure fast load times and smooth user experiences.
  • Perform regular updates, patches, and maintenance tasks to keep the websites secure and up-to-date.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, content creators, and IT professionals, to achieve project goals.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively to team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in designing and developing websites using Drupal, including customization of modules and themes.
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including cloud infrastructure setup, configuration, and management.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development languages and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with responsive design principles and mobile optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
  • Drupal certification or AWS certification.
  • Experience working with government agencies or organizations in the environmental sector.
  • Knowledge of website accessibility standards and practices.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
